SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES:
The Potts Memorial Scholarship aims to assist exceptional high school seniors by strengthening their educational opportunities, thereby, helping them to inspire others.
The Life Enrichment Award is to encourage former COPDS program participants (campers, swimmers, students, scholarship applicants, etc.) to engage in lifelong learning, and to support the pursuit and development of one’s purpose and passion. Request examples include passport application fees, prep course fees for graduate program entrance exam, recording studio costs, etc. |

WHO IS ELIGIBLE ?
FOR THE POTTS MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP.....
FOR THE LIFE ENRICHMENT AWARD.....
- You must be a graduating high school Senior of African American heritage
- Be a current resident of the state of Michigan
- Be a US citizen or permanent residence of the US
- Possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale
- Plan to enroll full-time (12 credit hours or more) in an accredited institution of higher learning (i.e. community college, university, vocation or skilled trade). Proof of actual enrollment is required before any awarded funds will be disbursed.
FOR THE LIFE ENRICHMENT AWARD.....
- Persons up to age 30 who have participated in a COPDS sponsored activity or program, or
- have submitted an application for a COPDS sponsored scholarship, or
- have volunteered with COPDS
